Final Farewell

So our last night in Vancouver Island has come to an end, and thus our holiday. It's with heavy hearts we leave tomorrow. On the brighter side it means I won't have to write another blog for a very long time (Yay I hear you cry!)

So here's some pics from this evening where we skipped stones with the Bailey Brothers and finally visited a 'Wendy's' which James has wanted to do since we've been here.

See you all in Blighty soon. x

The Neighbourhood

We loved driving along visiting all the different parts of the island, the road systems are so much easier to understand, and the highways are brilliant. After only driving on the left a couple of times, James soon loved driving the Yaris. Anyway here's some pics for the mini adventures we've done around where we've spent most our time near Courtenay during the weeks.

Comox Lake

Such a shame it was a foggy day as I bet this would be beautiful in sunlight. Also photos of a caterpillar and grasshopper.

Paradise Meadows (Near Mount Washington)

We were so high up in the clouds you couldn't see any of the impressive views until the descent back down, but I couldn't resist to take a few pics of the Alpine forest despite the rain.

Mini Golf

Enough said.

Views

We were lucky enough to see a harvest moon one night. Was absolutely beautiful, this photo does not do it justice. Also a couple of photos of view from Chris's apartment.

In the city

So we spent a couple of nights in Vancouver City.

Amazing views leaving and returning to Vancouver Island. Sadly the first thing I thought of when uploading the photos was how long it took to actually get on the ferry as we were hanging around Nanaimo departure bay for about 3 hours before leaving.

Vancouver City

We stayed in a great area, a nice suburban area but still close to the city.

These shots are from Granville Island which was very pretty in parts.

Night Life

So it was a big city with sky scrappers and the rest of it. But amazingly well kept and clean. We saw an Ice Hockey game - which was awesome! The Vancouver Cannucks were playing and won. The only sport where the referees sit back and let the players have a little fight before throwing them into the naughty pen.

Stanley Park

OK this park is HUGE. Sadly it was raining pretty badly so couldn't have a proper wander.

Vancouver Aquarium (In Stanley Park)

This was amazing, definitely puts the Brighton Sealife Centre to shame.

(These dolphins weren't as impressive as the ones we saw in the wild obviously)
